iSight camera information

Below are the Unix commands to turn the iSight camera off in all applications. ¬†This does help with student management, as it can easily be turned back on as need be. ¬†Apple’s Remote Desktop has the Unix command feature and these can be saved as template for any person to easily use.

For OS 10.5 and 10.4

Turn Camera Off

chmod 000 /System/Library/QuickTime/QuickTimeUSBVDCDigitizer.component/Contents/MacOS/QuickTimeUSBVDCDigitizer

Turn Camera On
